The newly appointed ambassadors represent a diverse group of countries, including André Haspels from the Netherlands, Abdelkader El Ansari from Morocco, Soeung Rathchavy from Cambodia, and Sashko Nasev from North Macedonia, among others. The full list highlights the broad spectrum of nations seeking to enhance their relationships with the Chinese mainland.
In a ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People, President Xi extended a warm welcome to the diplomats. “China stands ready to provide support and facilitation to help you fulfill your duties,” Xi stated, emphasizing the importance of their roles as bridges between their respective nations and the Chinese mainland.
President Xi encouraged the ambassadors to explore the vast and rich landscapes of China. “By experiencing different regions, you will gain a deeper understanding of our culture, history, and the aspirations of our people,” he said.
Highlighting recent developments, Xi noted that the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has introduced over 300 major reform initiatives aimed at advancing Chinese modernization. “Chinese modernization is not a path of isolated progress,” he stressed. “We are committed to sharing development opportunities with the world and working together to achieve peaceful development, mutual benefit, and common prosperity.”
Addressing global challenges such as geopolitical conflicts, unilateralism, protectionism, and climate change, President Xi called for collective action. “The urgency of these issues requires greater international solidarity and cooperation to safeguard global peace and development,” he asserted.
Reaffirming China’s role in the international community, Xi described the country as a stabilizing, active, and progressive force. “China remains unwavering in its commitment to peaceful development,” he declared. “We are determined to work with all nations to promote a fair and orderly multipolar world, inclusive and sustainable economic globalization, shared human values, and the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind.”
The ceremony concluded with ambassadors expressing their readiness to enhance cooperation and foster stronger bilateral ties. The event underscores China’s ongoing efforts to engage with the international community and contribute to global development.
