Expert Highlights Global Competitiveness of China’s ‘New Three’ Industries

China’s foreign trade achievements this year deserve a score of 90 points, according to Zhang Jianping, deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Research Institute for International Trade and Economic Cooperation under the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

Speaking at a recent forum, Zhang highlighted the exceptional performance of China’s “new three” industries—new energy vehicles (NEVs), lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaics—in global markets. “These sectors have demonstrated core competitiveness in both developing and developed markets,” he said, emphasizing their significant contribution to China’s foreign trade success.

Zhang attributed the strong performance to China’s continued investment in innovation and technology, which has propelled these industries to the forefront of international competition. “Our advancements in NEVs, battery technology, and solar power are not only benefiting domestic growth but are also making waves internationally,” he noted.

The expert’s positive assessment reflects China’s strategic focus on sustainable and high-tech industries as drivers of future economic growth. With the global push toward clean energy and environmental sustainability, China’s “new three” are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the global economic landscape.
