Media Campaign Kicks Off to Promote Youth Exchanges in Global South
A groundbreaking media campaign aimed at fostering youth exchanges among countries in the Global South was officially launched on Monday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The initiative seeks to build bridges between young people across diverse cultures, promoting collaboration in media, arts, research, and sports.
The campaign is a joint effort by China Media Group (CMG), the Youth 20 (Y20) engagement group of the Group of 20 (G20), and Brazil’s General Secretariat of the Presidency. It represents a significant step towards enhancing cooperation and understanding among emerging economies.
During the launch ceremony, an alliance of 215 media organizations from 74 countries was announced, aiming to strengthen media cooperation throughout the Global South. This coalition underscores the shared commitment to amplifying the voices of young people and providing platforms for cross-cultural dialogue.
CMG President Shen Haixiong addressed attendees, emphasizing the importance of youth collaboration in today’s interconnected world. “This campaign aims to build a platform where young people in the Global South can march forward together,” he said. “Through media and communications, art creation, social research, and sports exchanges, we can foster a new era of unity and progress.”
The initiative is expected to open new avenues for young professionals and creatives, enabling them to share ideas, showcase talents, and contribute to the social and economic development of their respective regions.
The launch in Rio de Janeiro marks the beginning of a series of events and programs designed to engage youth audiences and encourage active participation in shaping the future of the Global South.
