Peruvian Minister Highlights Unlimited Trade Potential with China

Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Úrsula Desilú León Chempén, has declared that China and Peru share unlimited potential in trade, emphasizing the importance of their strategic partnership. In an interview with CGTN, she highlighted the new opportunities arising for Peru’s tourism industry as a result of recent meetings between the two nations.

“China is our important strategic partner, and the meeting has brought new opportunities for the development of Peru’s tourism industry,” León Chempén stated. She underscored the significance of strengthened ties with China in fostering economic growth and cultural exchange.

A notable development in this partnership is the opening of the Chancay Port, which León Chempén noted has significantly enhanced logistics efficiency. “With the Chancay Port opening, transit time from Peru to China has been reduced by 10 to 12 days, which is crucial for logistics efficiency,” she explained.

The reduction in transit time not only accelerates trade but also positions Peru as a more competitive player in global markets. The minister’s remarks reflect a growing optimism about the future of Peru-China relations and the mutual benefits of increased collaboration.

As the two countries continue to deepen their economic and cultural connections, stakeholders across various sectors are poised to explore new avenues of cooperation, further unlocking the potential of this strategic partnership.
