Napoli Solidify Serie A Lead with 2-0 Triumph Over AC Milan

Napoli have cemented their position at the top of Serie A with a commanding 2-0 victory over AC Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday. Under the guidance of manager Antonio Conte, the Partenopei showcased their championship credentials, extending their lead at the summit to seven points over defending champions Inter Milan, who are set to visit Empoli on Wednesday.

The match saw early dominance from Napoli, with Romelu Lukaku muscling past a defender to score from the center of the area, giving his team an early advantage. Not long after, rising star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia dazzled the crowd by dribbling past two defenders before launching a precise angled shot into the far corner, doubling Napoli’s lead before halftime.

AC Milan struggled to find their footing, though center forward Alvaro Morata had a potential goal disallowed for offside early in the second half, adding to the Rossoneri’s frustrations. The defeat leaves Milan in eighth place, 11 points adrift of the leaders.

Napoli’s resurgence this season has been remarkable. After finishing tenth last season, the appointment of Conte in June has revitalized the squad. The team has remained unbeaten since a disappointing 3-0 loss to Hellas Verona in their season opener on August 18. With this latest victory, Napoli are in prime position to claim their second title in three years.

The Partenopei will return to the San Siro in less than two weeks to face Inter Milan, a match that could further define their quest for the Scudetto.

In other Serie A action, Bologna secured a 2-0 win against Cagliari with goals from Riccardo Orsolini and Jens Odgaard. Meanwhile, Lecce triumphed over a nine-man Hellas Verona side, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Patrick Dorgu.
