The 136th Canton Fair’s second phase concluded on Sunday, marking a significant milestone with a record number of exhibits and participants. Under the theme “Quality Home Living,” the event showcased a diverse array of sophisticated home products, attracting global attention from businesses and consumers alike.
Running from October 23 to 27, this phase was meticulously organized into three specialized sections: building materials and furniture, household items, and gifts and decorations. Each section was designed to the scale of a major professional exhibition, facilitating one-stop specialized purchasing and enhancing the efficiency of supplier-buyer matching. This setup not only streamlined the procurement process but also promoted industry cooperation and development, creating abundant business opportunities.
With 15 exhibition areas, the second phase featured over 24,700 booths and welcomed 10,000 exhibitors—an increase of 220 exhibitors compared to the previous edition. A noteworthy highlight was the significant presence of high-quality specialized enterprises. More than 2,300 outstanding exhibitors participated, including “little giant” enterprises, national manufacturing champions, and high-tech companies, marking an increase of 872 from the last session.
The fair’s online platform also witnessed remarkable growth. By October 21, nearly 1.59 million products were uploaded for the second phase—the highest number among all phases. This included 429,000 new products, 305,000 green and low-carbon products, and 48,000 smart products, indicating a substantial rise from the previous edition and reflecting the industry’s shift towards innovation and sustainability.
Looking ahead, the third phase of the fair is set to commence on October 31 with the theme “Beautiful Life.” This upcoming phase will feature lifestyle consumer products such as home textiles, apparel, luggage, food, and sports and recreational items, promising to continue the momentum of excellence and innovation.
The Canton Fair, held twice a year every spring and autumn, continues to stand as a pivotal platform for international trade, fostering connections and showcasing China’s dynamic role in the global market.
