China Denounces U.S. Media Accusations of Espionage Activities

China’s Foreign Ministry has firmly rejected recent accusations by U.S. media outlets alleging that China is conducting espionage activities. At a regular press briefing on Monday, ministry spokesperson Lin Jian criticized the claims as baseless and lacking evidence.

"Some Western media have been hyping up false narratives about China’s ‘espionage activities’ for quite some time," Lin stated. "However, apart from some baseless speculations and remarks, there are no facts or evidence."

Lin pointed out that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has recently published guidelines in Chinese on social media platforms in an attempt to lure Chinese personnel to collaborate with the agency. He condemned this move as a serious violation of China’s national interests.

"China will resolutely crack down on infiltration and sabotage activities by overseas anti-China forces to effectively safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests," Lin declared.

He further accused the CIA of employing "despicable methods" to steal other countries’ secrets and interfere in their internal affairs. "The United States has never stopped its espionage activities against China," Lin said, adding that the U.S. has conducted large-scale wiretapping and secret theft on its allies around the world while falsely accusing other countries of espionage threats.

Lin urged the United States to "immediately stop its wrongdoings and cease bringing more chaos and turmoil to the world."

This exchange highlights ongoing tensions between China and the United States over intelligence and security issues, adding another layer to their complex bilateral relationship.
