Media leaders from BRICS nations and other countries gathered in Kazan on Wednesday for the BRICS Media Dialogue themed “Exchange and Mutual Learning for A Shared Future.” The dialogue was co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

Representatives from mainstream media, government agencies, and think tanks from China, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Belarus, and other countries participated in the event. Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on effectively telling the stories of BRICS modernization and disseminating comprehensive, objective, and impartial news to the world.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, delivered a speech highlighting the role of BRICS media in adhering to the spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation. He emphasized the commitment of BRICS media to becoming transmitters of common values, guardians of diverse civilizations, and leaders of cultural cooperation.

Shen expressed his hope that, with the enlargement of BRICS, media organizations would be guided by the five commitments proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 16th BRICS Summit: peace, innovation, green development, justice, and closer people-to-people exchanges. He urged BRICS media to speak with one voice, promote common development, and advance shared values.

Attendees expressed their eagerness to further build consensus, deepen cooperation, and learn from one another. They highlighted the importance of contributing media power to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
