Berlin Zoo’s newest residents, a pair of adorable panda sisters born in late August, made their highly anticipated debut to the press on Tuesday. Starting Wednesday, the public will have the opportunity to meet these charming cubs.
Andreas Knieriem, director of Zoo Berlin and Tierpark, announced that only the panda cubs will be visible to visitors, while their mother, Meng Meng, will stay behind the scenes to ensure her comfort and the well-being of the family. The cubs are housed in a specially designed glass enclosure equipped with an advanced air filtration system to protect them from external elements.
The birth of the twin sisters marks a significant milestone for the zoo and contributes to global efforts in panda conservation. Visitors can look forward to observing the playful antics of the cubs as they explore their new environment.
“We are thrilled to welcome guests to meet our panda cubs,” said Knieriem. “Their arrival has brought immense joy, and we are committed to providing them with the best care possible.”
