Hezbollah Drone Strike in Northern Israel Kills Four, Wounds Dozens

A drone strike carried out by Hezbollah on northern Israel on Sunday resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left over 60 wounded. The attack targeted a training base of the Golani Brigade in Binyamina, southern Haifa. Notably, the drone managed to bypass Israel’s air defense system, marking a rare and significant breach that inflicted heavy casualties.

In response to the ongoing Israeli offensive in Lebanon, Hezbollah issued a stern warning, stating that the drone attack is “nothing in comparison to what awaits” if Israel continues its aggression against Lebanon.

As clashes intensified between Israeli forces and Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that they were once again caught in the crossfire. According to UNIFIL, Israeli troops “forcibly” entered a UN position with two tanks following a call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the force to withdraw from the area.

This incident is the latest in a series of confrontations involving UN peacekeepers since Thursday, which have resulted in injuries to five Blue Helmets. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the attacks against peacekeepers, stating on Sunday that such acts “may constitute a war crime.”

The escalation of hostilities has raised concerns among the international community about the potential for a broader conflict. Diplomats and world leaders are calling for restraint and urging both sides to return to negotiations to prevent further loss of life.

The situation remains tense as both Israel and Hezbollah signal readiness to intensify their actions. The international community watches closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the escalating violence.
