Historical Logic: The Driving Force Behind China’s Miracles

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Seventy-five years ago, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese people emerged victorious from the New Democratic Revolution, stepping into a new era where they could shape their nation’s destiny.

At that pivotal moment in history, Dean Acheson, then U.S. Secretary of State, sought to explain the causes of the Chinese revolution. He attributed it to two main factors: “overpopulation” and the “influx of new ideas from the West.” However, examining China’s journey through the lens of historical logic offers a different perspective.

Throughout history, wherever there is oppression and exploitation, resistance inevitably arises. The forms and methods of this resistance may vary, but the underlying drive for dignity and self-determination remains constant. This is the logic of history—a pattern where people strive to break free from oppressive systems to create societies where they can stand tall.

China’s New Democratic Revolution was a manifestation of this historical logic. It was a profound endeavor to dismantle the old order and establish a new society where the people could be the masters of their own fate. With the establishment of the PRC in 1949, this vision became a reality. The Chinese people, under the leadership of the CPC, took control of their country’s future.

The Chinese government has often emphasized that among all things in the world, human beings are the most precious. This belief underscores the nation’s development path. It suggests that with the people’s collective efforts and effective leadership, any miracle is achievable. Over the past 75 years, China has demonstrated this by transforming itself into a global economic powerhouse, lifting millions out of poverty, and making significant advancements in various fields.

The miracles witnessed in China are not merely products of population size or external ideas but are rooted in the historical logic of striving for dignity, sovereignty, and prosperity. As China continues to evolve, this historical logic remains at the heart of its journey, guiding the nation toward new milestones.
