At the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s commitment to being a steadfast partner in Argentina’s development. Meeting with Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, Wang emphasized the importance China places on its relationship with Argentina, highlighting a continued policy of stability and continuity.
Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, called for both nations to prioritize their bilateral relations within their respective foreign policies. “China always attaches great importance to its relations with Argentina,” Wang stated. “We should deepen political mutual trust and continue to support each other on issues concerning our core interests and major concerns.”
He noted the highly complementary nature of the two economies, emphasizing that the practical cooperation between China and Argentina enjoys a solid foundation. “Our economies complement each other, and there is vast potential for collaboration,” Wang added.
Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino expressed her country’s appreciation for the Chinese market. “Argentina prizes the Chinese market,” Mondino said. “Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest and do business in our country.” She also voiced a desire to expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation, indicating Argentina’s readiness to actively participate in China-Latin America cooperation initiatives.
The meeting underscored the mutual commitment to strengthening ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration, particularly in the realms of development and economic partnership.
