The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) has officially confirmed Sam Hou Fai as the accepted candidate for the upcoming chief executive election on October 13.
On Friday, the commission released a notice stating that it had completed an eligibility review of the only application received for the position. The review process included publishing a list featuring the candidate and the members of the Chief Executive Election Committee who nominated him.
Since no objections were filed within the one-day period following the announcement of the candidate’s eligibility, the commission proceeded to announce the final list, confirming Sam Hou Fai as the sole candidate for the election.
The confirmation marks a significant step in Macao SAR’s electoral process as the region prepares for the upcoming election.
