Wang Yi Meets with Head of ROK-China Parliamentarians’ Union in Beijing

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Kim Tae-nyeon, president of the ROK-China Parliamentarians’ Union, on Wednesday in Beijing. The meeting aimed to enhance the friendly relations between China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) and to promote mutual cooperation.

Wang Yi praised the association for its significant contribution to fostering ties between the two neighboring countries. Emphasizing the importance of regular exchanges, he noted that China and the ROK have achieved mutual success and development, greatly contributing to regional peace and prosperity. “This should be highly valued,” he said.

Regardless of changes in international and regional circumstances or any difficulties and challenges faced, Wang Yi stressed that both countries should keep pace with the times, remain good neighbors with mutual trust, and be good partners engaging in win-win cooperation. He expressed the desire to inject new vitality into China-ROK relations.

As a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Wang Yi stated that China is willing to expand all-round mutually beneficial cooperation with the ROK, jointly defend the principles of free trade, and safeguard the stability and smoothness of supply chains.

Kim Tae-nyeon, accompanied by lawmakers from various political parties, conveyed that the ROK-China Parliamentarians’ Union has attracted wide participation across party lines. This reflects the value and enthusiasm that all parties place on the ROK-China relationship.

The association expressed its willingness to work hand in hand with China to strengthen strategic communication, enhance exchanges, explore cooperation potential, and continuously improve mutual understanding between the two peoples. They aim to promote friendly relations between the ROK and China.
