Bayern Munich Triumph 3-2 Over Wolfsburg, Kompany Secures Winning Bundesliga Debut

Bayern Munich secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Wolfsburg on Sunday, thanks to a late goal by Serge Gnabry, giving their new coach, Vincent Kompany, a triumphant start in the Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg began the match with confidence, but it was the visitors who created better chances in the first half. Frenchman Sacha Boey showcased fine skill down the right wing, setting up Jamal Musiala for an easy tap-in to open the scoring.

After the break, Bayern faced a setback as they conceded a penalty when Tiago Tomas was brought down by Boey. Lovro Majer stepped up and converted from the spot, leveling the score for Wolfsburg.

The home side continued to apply pressure, and in the 55th minute, Patrick Wimmer’s precise pass found Majer, who calmly slotted home his second goal, putting Wolfsburg ahead.

Bayern fought back, and an own goal by Wolfsburg’s Jakub Kaminski brought the score to 2-2. In the 82nd minute, Serge Gnabry, assisted by Harry Kane, struck a decisive goal into the corner, securing all three points for the Bavarians.

“We are very happy and are happy to take it. It’s good for morale and self-confidence,” Gnabry said after the match. “It was a very exhausting Sunday afternoon. The equalizer straight after halftime knocked our socks off a bit. Then we were down 2-1, which made it even more difficult. But at the end of the day, we were rewarded and won 3-2.”

New signing Michael Olise, along with Harry Kane, looked lively throughout the game, frequently finding promising positions. However, Wolfsburg goalkeeper Kamil Grabara made several brilliant saves to deny them, keeping the match competitive until the final whistle.
