Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Zhu emphasized that any efforts to promote separatist agendas threaten the stability and harmony of the region.
“‘Taiwan independence’ and cross-Strait peace are as irreconcilable as fire and water,” Zhu stated. She underscored that the Chinese mainland remains committed to the one-China principle and opposes any form of separatist activities that aim to divide the nation.
Zhu called on residents of Taiwan to recognize the mutual benefits of peaceful reunification and to resist movements that could lead to increased tensions. “We hope that people on both sides of the Strait will work together to promote peaceful development and safeguard our shared interests,” she added.
