Former Kyrgyz Prime Minister Djoomart Otorbaev has asserted that imposing sanctions is tantamount to admitting defeat in today’s competitive global landscape. Speaking on the importance of collaboration and competition among nations, Otorbaev emphasized that sanctions hinder progress and undermine cooperation.
“Introducing sanctions is equivalent to defeat,” Otorbaev stated, highlighting the counterproductive nature of such measures. He urged countries to emulate the Chinese mainland’s approach in enhancing competitiveness and fostering development.
Otorbaev praised the Belt and Road Initiative as a prime example of successful cooperation. “It is a model of both ‘going out’ and ‘inviting back’,” he remarked, noting how the initiative promotes mutual growth and connectivity across regions.
He underscored the necessity for nations to balance competition with collaboration, suggesting that working together can lead to shared prosperity. By focusing on building competitiveness and embracing cooperative frameworks, countries can navigate the complexities of the modern world more effectively.
