Xi Jinping Congratulates To Lam on Election as Vietnam’s Communist Party Chief

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping has extended warm congratulations to To Lam on his recent election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

In a message sent on Saturday, Xi expressed his delight at To Lam’s election, conveying his congratulations on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and in his own name. Xi highlighted the longstanding friendship between China and Vietnam, emphasizing that the two socialist neighbors are connected by mountains and rivers, sharing deep-rooted ties.

Xi recalled his state visit to Vietnam last December, during which both nations jointly announced the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance. He noted that this initiative has opened a new chapter in the relations between the two parties and countries, paving the way for enhanced cooperation and mutual development.
