China’s Special Envoy Attends Mauritanian Presidential Inauguration

In a gesture reinforcing the strengthening ties between China and Mauritania, Wang Guangqian, the Special Envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, attended the inauguration ceremony of Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani on Thursday.

During the ceremony, Special Envoy Wang met with President Ghazouani, conveying President Xi’s warm congratulations and best wishes. Wang emphasized China’s commitment to developing its relationship with Mauritania, highlighting the importance of consolidating political mutual trust, deepening practical cooperation, and enhancing cultural exchanges between the two nations. “China stands ready to work hand in hand with Mauritania,” he stated, envisioning a brighter future for bilateral relations.

President Ghazouani expressed his sincere gratitude to President Xi for sending a special envoy to his inauguration, asking Wang to convey his high respect and greetings. He underscored Mauritania’s appreciation for the traditional friendship shared with China and expressed a keen desire to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields. “We aim to promote the Mauritania-China relationship to even higher levels,” Ghazouani affirmed.
