A spokesperson from the Chinese mainland emphasized on Friday that recent judicial guidelines on criminal punishments are specifically designed to target diehard “Taiwan independence” separatists, dismissing attempts by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities to distort their purpose.
Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, stated at a press conference that the DPP authorities have persistently misrepresented the judicial measures.
