Rescued Green Sea Turtles Return to South China Sea After Rehabilitation

Beidao, South China Sea — In a heartwarming event, two green sea turtles rescued by the Chinese Coast Guard have been returned to their natural habitat after a year and four months of rehabilitation.

In 2021, during a routine boat inspection in the South China Sea, officers from the Chinese Coast Guard discovered two injured green sea turtles. The turtles were promptly transported to the Beidao Sea Turtle Protection Station, where they received the necessary medical care.

Over the course of their recovery, the turtles were cared for by the dedicated team at the protection station. Their rehabilitation involved careful monitoring and supportive care to ensure they regained strength and health.

After a year and four months, the turtles were deemed fit to return to the wild. The successful release marks a significant moment for marine conservation efforts in the region.
