The resolution aims to address global disparities in AI development and promote equitable access to AI technologies.

In an exclusive interview with CGTN, Zeng Yi, a professor specializing in brain-inspired AI and AI governance at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a member of the UN High-Level Advisory Body on AI, emphasized the significance of the resolution. “This initiative is a crucial step towards filling the global gap in AI capabilities,” he stated. “International cooperation is essential to advance global AI capacity-building and ensure that the benefits of AI are shared universally.”

The resolution highlights the need for collaboration among nations to develop AI in an inclusive, transparent, and beneficial manner. It encourages member states to share best practices, provide support to developing countries, and work together to mitigate risks associated with AI technologies.

Zeng Yi underscored the importance of collective efforts in navigating the challenges posed by rapid advancements in AI. “By working together, we can harness the potential of AI to address global issues such as healthcare, education, and climate change,” he said. “This resolution sets the foundation for a more connected and equitable future.”
