The Beijing municipal government has unveiled new guidelines aimed at enhancing infrastructure and services to promote the city’s future-oriented industries. This initiative is set to bolster sectors that are anticipated to drive economic growth and technological innovation in the coming years.
Last year, Beijing identified six key fields—information, health, manufacturing, energy, and materials—and 20 industries including general artificial intelligence, 6G technology, smart travel, and quantum information, as part of its future industry promotion plan. These sectors are poised to be at the forefront of global technological advancements.
To support these industries, Beijing will upgrade existing incubation bases and establish new ones to provide high-value assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as unicorn companies. According to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, these bases will be equipped with a range of resources.
“Such bases need to be equipped with various resources, including partnerships with universities and research institutions, and provide financial and business management services,” said an official from the bureau. “This will help enterprises recruit talent, transform scientific and technological achievements, develop markets, and seek investment and financing.”
The initiative reflects Beijing’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to innovation and growth. By enhancing infrastructure and support services, the city aims to attract cutting-edge enterprises and position itself as a global hub for future industries.
