China Secures Full Sport Climbing Team for Paris 2024 Olympics

Chinese athletes have successfully secured places in all four sport climbing events at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, marking a significant achievement for the nation’s climbing team.

Luo Zhilu became the final Chinese climber to qualify for the Paris Games after finishing fourth in the women’s combined event at the 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest, Hungary. She will join her teammate Zhang Yuetong in the women’s combined competition.

In addition to Luo and Zhang, five other Chinese climbers have qualified for the Olympics. Pan Yufei will compete in the men’s combined event, while Long Jinbao and Wu Peng have secured spots in the men’s speed event. Deng Lijuan and Zhou Yafei will represent China in the women’s speed event.

Beyond climbing, China has also claimed four skateboarding slots for the Paris Games. Cui Chenxi, Zeng Wenhui, and Zhu Yuanling will participate in the women’s street event, with Cui having previously won gold at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou at just 13 years old. Zheng Haohao qualified for the women’s park event.

In breaking, Zeng Yingying and Qi Xiangyu earned Olympic berths and will join Liu Qingyi in representing China. Zeng and Liu will compete in the B-Girls event, while Qi will participate in the B-Boys competition.
