China has unveiled its significant strides in artificial intelligence (AI), revealing that the country now hosts over 4,500 AI companies. The announcement was made at the World Intelligence Expo 2024 in north China’s Tianjin Municipality, highlighting China’s rapid embrace of AI technology.
Shan Zhongde, vice minister of industry and information technology, disclosed the figures during the expo on Thursday. He emphasized that China’s AI industry has seen remarkable growth, reflecting the nation’s commitment to becoming a global leader in AI innovation.
“China has built 421 national-level demonstration factories featuring intelligent manufacturing,” Shan said. “Additionally, we have over 10,000 provincial-level digital workshops and smart factories, showcasing our advancements in smart manufacturing.”
