This year marks the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and New Zealand. In recognition of this milestone, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with New Zealand officials to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
Andre Rowell, an advisor at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, emphasized the importance of the relationship between the two nations. “China and New Zealand share a significant partnership that has grown over the past decade. We are looking forward to enhancing trade and cultural exchanges,” he said.
Annie Evans, director of the Cultural Exchange Sector at the Oceania Free Trade Center, echoed this sentiment. “The cultural ties between our countries are a vital component of our relationship. We are committed to fostering mutual understanding and collaboration through various exchange programs,” she noted.
Rowell highlighted the upcoming China International Import Expo in Shanghai this November as a valuable opportunity. “We are particularly looking forward to participating in the expo. It will provide a platform to explore broader cooperation opportunities and showcase what New Zealand has to offer,” he explained.
The discussions and ongoing engagements signal a mutual interest in deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership. Both countries aim to build on the successes of the past decade, focusing on economic growth, cultural understanding, and shared prosperity.
