These back-to-back events are set to transform the city into a global hub for cinematic and television excellence.

Record-Breaking Submissions Reflect Global Interest

This year’s SIFF has received an impressive array of over 3,700 films from 105 countries and regions. Among the 2,224 entries vying for competition, there are 1,375 world premieres and 390 international premieres. The surge in submissions not only highlights the festival’s growing international influence but also underscores Shanghai’s role as a vital platform for filmmakers worldwide to showcase their work.

Meanwhile, the STVF’s Magnolia Awards have seen a significant increase in entries, attracting nearly 1,000 works from 57 countries and regions across five continents. The Drama section alone features approximately 190 TV series from China. Notably, the number of foreign TV series submissions has climbed to nearly 170, up 53.7 percent from the previous year’s 110 entries. This upward trend signifies a burgeoning global interest in participating in China’s esteemed television festival.

Celebrating Excellence with the Golden Goblet and Magnolia Awards

The Golden Goblet Awards at SIFF and the Magnolia Awards at STVF remain among the most coveted honors in the film and television industry. These awards recognize outstanding achievements and foster international collaboration.
