The 7th Digital China Summit (DCS) commenced on Friday in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, showcasing groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and 5.5G technology. Marking a significant milestone, the event features an accessible 5.5G network and over 100 interactive experiences, including ultra-high-definition (UHD) naked-eye 3D screens, humanoid robots, and AI-powered robot baristas, captivating a global audience.
This year’s summit, the first following the optimization of China’s national data work system, centers on “unlocking the value of data and developing new quality productivity.” Spanning a 56,000-square-meter experience area, the summit includes a central forum and over 10 breakout sessions, highlighting the latest developments in the construction of digital China. The Digital China Development Report (2023) is set to be unveiled during the event.
As of Thursday, the summit’s media center reported over 50,000 registered attendees, with more than 11,000 participating in various forums. The on-site experience area hosts over 350 participating units, offering immersive application scenarios that integrate AI into daily life.
“We have more immersive application scenarios this year, as people are keen to see how AI is applied in real-life situations,” said Guo Yefeng, a staff member of the 7th DCS, in an interview with China Media Group (CMG).
The summit’s organizing committee has established 45 experiential spots across Fuzhou, allowing residents and visitors to explore the latest achievements of a smart city. At the digital experience zone, visitors can engage with a wide range of AI applications and services.
“Need directions to the Digital China Summit?” explained Yuan Qi, a staff member at Fuzhou’s digital experience zone. “Simply ask the AI assistant! It will provide you with specific bus and subway routes and even generate QR codes for convenient one-click access to public transportation options.”
The 7th Digital China Summit not only highlights China’s commitment to digital innovation but also offers a glimpse into the future of smart cities and AI integration in everyday life, drawing interest from global readers, business professionals, and technology enthusiasts alike.
