Bulgarian Visitors Embrace Tea Culture in China’s Ningbo on International Tea Day

Agricultural tourism is flourishing across the Chinese mainland, offering unique cultural experiences to visitors from around the world. To celebrate International Tea Day on May 21, a group of Bulgarian visitors immersed themselves in a tea-picking and tasting event at a picturesque tea garden near Dongqian Lake in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province.

Among the participants was 54-year-old Simeon Petrov Vasilev, who has cherished a love for tea for over four decades. Standing amidst the lush tea fields, Vasilev shared his admiration for Chinese green tea. “It’s amazing that the green tea here needs only a few seconds of brewing to bring out such aromatic flavors,” he remarked, appreciating the subtle differences compared to tea from Bulgaria.

The event not only highlighted the rich tea culture of China but also fostered international exchange and appreciation. Visitors learned about traditional tea-making processes, from picking the delicate leaves to brewing the perfect cup. Such experiences are part of a growing trend in the region, attracting tourists keen on connecting with the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the area.

Ningbo’s emphasis on sustainable agricultural tourism is contributing to local economies while promoting cultural understanding. As more international visitors like the Bulgarian group explore these offerings, the ties between nations are strengthened through shared experiences and mutual appreciation of longstanding traditions.
