Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended his congratulations to the 33rd Arab League Summit, expressing China’s readiness to work with Arab nations to build a higher-level China-Arab community with a shared future.
In a congratulatory message to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, the rotating chairperson of the Council of Heads of the League of Arab States, President Xi praised the Arab League’s longstanding commitment to unity, self-strengthening, and the promotion of peace, stability, and development in the Middle East.
“Arab countries have adhered to independence, promoted development and revitalization, upheld fairness and justice, and safeguarded regional peace and stability,” President Xi noted. He highlighted the increasing role of Arab nations in strengthening solidarity and cooperation within the Global South and in upholding their common interests.
President Xi emphasized that China-Arab relations are currently at their historical best. Reflecting on the first China-Arab States Summit held in December 2022, he recalled how leaders from both sides charted a comprehensive blueprint for bilateral relations and committed to building a China-Arab community with a shared future for the new era.
“Over the past year, China and Arab countries have witnessed deepening political mutual trust, vibrant practical cooperation, and rich cultural and people-to-people exchanges,” he said. “Our cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful outcomes.”
Looking ahead, President Xi expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Arab countries to carry forward the spirit of China-Arab friendship. “We aim to build a China-Arab community with a shared future at a higher level and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind,” he stated.
He also highlighted the upcoming 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, set to be held in Beijing at the end of the month. President Xi expressed hope that both sides would seize this opportunity to deepen cooperation across various fields and better benefit the peoples of China and Arab nations.
