An increasing number of foreigners are visiting China for tourism, study, and work. However, differences in payment habits have led some to worry about using mobile payments in China. To address these concerns, the Consulate General of China in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, hosted an event on Friday at the China Visa Application Service Center to enhance understanding of China’s mobile payment systems among visa applicants.
Ou Boqian, Consul General of China in Dubai, attended the event and introduced the various payment options available in China. She highlighted the rapid development of China’s mobile payment systems, emphasizing that mobile devices now support a wide range of scenarios, including communication and online payments.
“With an increasing number of foreigners visiting China, we believe they will better understand mobile payments and experience the convenience of living in China,” Ou said. “You can simply enjoy your life in China.”
According to the consulate, applicants from more than 170 countries have applied for a Chinese visa or sought information about traveling to the country via the visa center in Dubai so far.
During the event, “Guide to Payment Services in China” brochures were distributed to applicants. The guidebook provides detailed explanations for foreigners on obtaining and using payment services in various scenarios, including bank cards, mobile payments, cash, accounts, and digital currency.
This initiative aims to ease the travel experience for foreigners by familiarizing them with China’s advanced payment systems, ensuring they can fully enjoy their time in the country without financial barriers.
