Budapest, April 29 – In a celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary, the “China Image” film screening event was launched in Budapest. Jointly hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and Hungary’s ATV, the event aims to showcase a selection of films and television shows that highlight the vitality of China in the new era and strengthen the cultural bridge between the two nations.
The event features a dozen CMG-produced films and TV programs that will be broadcast on Hungarian media platforms. These productions offer Hungarian audiences a glimpse into China’s modern developments and the stories of friendship that have flourished between China and Hungary over the past seven and a half decades.
Prominent figures participated in the launch via video speeches, including Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of CMG; Peter Medgyessy, former Hungarian Prime Minister; Gong Tao, Chinese Ambassador to Hungary; and Tamas Kovacs, CEO of ATV. Their messages underscored the importance of cultural exchanges and mutual understanding in strengthening bilateral ties.
Shen Haixiong emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Hungary, noting that cultural collaborations like the “China Image” screening serve as vital platforms for people-to-people connections. Peter Medgyessy reflected on the historical significance of the relationship and expressed hope for continued cooperation in various fields.
Gong Tao highlighted the role of media in fostering mutual appreciation between the two countries, while Tamas Kovacs welcomed the opportunity to bring Chinese culture closer to the Hungarian audience through ATV’s broadcasts.
