Chinese Premier Li Qiang Urges Innovation in Intelligent NEV Development
China’s Premier Li Qiang emphasized the critical importance of advancing the development of intelligent connected new energy vehicles (NEVs) to elevate the nation’s auto industry during his visit to the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024) on Sunday.
Touring the exhibition, themed “Driving to Smart Mobility,” Li highlighted the need for the auto industry to become more high-end, smarter, and greener. He called for industrial innovation led by scientific and technological advancements, encouraging further opening up and cooperation to better meet and stimulate market demand.
“The strong momentum in China’s intelligent connected NEVs is encouraging,” Li remarked after observing the latest developments showcased at Auto China 2024. He expressed hope that automakers would make positive contributions to the global green and low-carbon transformation by accelerating efforts to tackle core technologies, strengthening coordination across the industrial chain, and promoting intelligent manufacturing.
Li underscored that both China’s and the global NEV markets are growing steadily with significant potential for market demand.
