CMG and Zhejiang Province Launch National Short Video Base in Hangzhou

China Media Group (CMG) and the government of east China’s Zhejiang Province have jointly launched a national short video base in Hangzhou. Announced on Friday, the initiative includes plans for producing high-quality video content aimed at advancing China’s media landscape.

Situated in Zhejiang’s capital, the base will utilize innovative media channels such as short videos, e-commerce, and esports to further develop national media outlets. By embracing these platforms, the project seeks to meet the evolving demands of audiences both domestically and internationally.

The facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance video production capabilities. These technological advancements are expected to streamline content creation processes and foster new levels of creativity in multimedia storytelling.

Among its content plans, the base will host user-generated content contests and drama script collection events. These initiatives aim to engage creators and encourage public participation, tapping into a wealth of talent and fresh perspectives.

CMG President Shen Haixiong attended the opening ceremony alongside other distinguished guests. The collaboration between CMG and Zhejiang Province marks a significant step in integrating technology with media to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the global arena.
