The 8th China Science Fiction Conference is set to take place at Shougang Park in Beijing’s Shijingshan District from April 27 to 29. Under the theme “Scientific Dreams Create the Future,” the conference will spotlight advancements in science fiction technology, creative writing, and industry development through a series of forums, industry promotion events, and a dedicated science fiction film week.
The conference will kick off with the release of the “2024 China Science Fiction Industry Report,” providing a comprehensive analysis of the current landscape and future trends within the science fiction industry. Esteemed science fiction writers, directors, enterprises, institutions, and universities will come together to unveil the China Science Fiction Industry Development Initiative, aiming to propel innovation and growth in China’s burgeoning science fiction sector.
Over 10 thematic forums will delve into cutting-edge topics across science fiction literature, film and television creation, artificial intelligence, scientific education, and more. These forums are designed to spark technological innovation through interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration.
The event will also feature special industry promotion activities, showcasing a plethora of new technologies, products, and scenarios characterized by breakthrough innovations. A report focusing on Beijing’s science fiction industry will be presented, highlighting the city’s latest developments and future prospects in the field.
In conjunction with the conference, the 4th Beijing Science Fiction Carnival will run from April 27 to May 5, enhancing the city’s sci-fi atmosphere and promoting science fiction experiences.
