Over 600 participants from the Brazilian government, enterprises, think tanks, and the University of Brasilia attended the event titled “50th Anniversary of China-Brazil Diplomatic Relations: Building a Sustainable World through Cooperation.”
Geraldo Alckmin, acting President and Minister of Industry of Brazil, delivered a congratulatory speech, emphasizing the profound friendship and fruitful economic and trade cooperation between the two nations over the past five decades.
“Strengthening and deepening cooperation in industry, agriculture, energy, global governance, and other fields will significantly contribute to realizing our modernization goals and benefiting our peoples,” Alckmin remarked.
Experts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, including Shi Dan, Zhang Yongsheng, Zhang Haipeng, Chen Xin, and Zhou Zhiwei, engaged with Brazilian counterparts on topics such as low-carbon economy, energy transition, technological innovation, ecological transformation, poverty reduction policies, and global governance.
On April 18, these experts delivered speeches at the University of Brasilia on the theme of Chinese modernization and its significance in the world. By enhancing understanding of China and tapping the potential of bilateral cooperation, both nations aim to elevate China-Brazil relations to a new level and build a community with a shared future.
Jointly organized by the Secretariat of the National High-End Think Tank Council of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of Latin American Studies, and the School of International Relations of the University of Brasilia, the seminar underscores the mutual commitment to sustainable development and modernization.
