China is accelerating its efforts to safeguard intellectual property (IP) rights nationwide, with a total of 71 national IP protection centers either under construction or already in operation, according to the National Intellectual Property Administration (NIPA).
These centers are strategically distributed across 28 provinces and autonomous regions, covering all four municipalities. The expansive network underscores China’s commitment to fostering a robust environment for innovation and technological advancement.
The NIPA recently approved the establishment of a new national IP protection center in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality. This center is set to specialize in rapid and collaborative IP protection services for emerging industries, particularly in the fields of next-generation information technology and biotechnology.
“The approval of the new center in Chongqing further enhances the regional layout of national IP protection centers,” the NIPA stated. “It signifies a pivotal step in strengthening IP protection mechanisms across the country.”
