Beijing, October 18 — In a significant move to strengthen bilateral relations, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with a delegation from El Salvador’s New Ideas Party, led by party leader and Vice President-elect Felix Ulloa, on Wednesday in Beijing.
Since establishing diplomatic ties over five years ago, China and El Salvador have witnessed rapid development in their relationship. Vice President Han highlighted this progress, stating, “Our bilateral relations have developed rapidly in an all-round way. We are willing to work with El Salvador to implement the consensus reached by our heads of state.”
The discussions focused on deepening cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and improving communication on international and regional affairs. Han emphasized China’s commitment to consolidating mutual trust and pushing for steady, long-term relations.
Vice President-elect Ulloa expressed gratitude for China’s support since the establishment of diplomatic ties. “Bilateral cooperation and exchanges are progressing smoothly, and the friendship between our peoples is constantly deepening,” he remarked. Ulloa reaffirmed El Salvador’s adherence to the one-China principle and expressed the New Ideas Party’s interest in learning from the Communist Party of China’s governance experience.
