China’s Economy Set for Continued Growth, Affirms CPPCC Spokesperson

China’s economy is poised for continued growth and resilience, according to Liu Jieyi, spokesperson for the second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Speaking at a press conference in Beijing on Sunday, Liu highlighted the nation’s ability to withstand external pressures and overcome internal challenges over the past year.

“The long-term positive trend of China’s economy, characterized by great potential and vitality, will continue to be consolidated and strengthened,” Liu stated. He noted that despite global economic uncertainties, China achieved its main targets for economic and social development, with high-quality growth making solid progress.

The CPPCC National Committee, China’s top political advisory body, has been actively focusing on promoting Chinese modernization. It deliberates on macroeconomic and significant economic issues, contributing to the nation’s economic development through effective policymaking and advisory efforts.

Liu emphasized the role of the CPPCC in boosting economic confidence. “Every quarter, we hold a symposium to analyze the macroeconomic situation, conducting in-depth consultations on issues such as monetary and employment policies,” he explained. “Our suggestions aim to stabilize market expectations and bolster confidence in development.”

Looking ahead, the CPPCC National Committee plans to continue its efforts in consolidating the positive momentum of the economy. “We will carry out various forms of consultation and deliberation on important economic issues,” Liu said. “By making informed suggestions and fostering consensus across all sectors of society, we actively contribute to promoting high-quality development.”

The press conference was held one day before the annual session of the CPPCC National Committee, scheduled from March 4 to 10. The session brings together political advisors from across China to discuss key issues and policies affecting the nation’s future.
