Xi’an’s 7th Silk Road Expo Strengthens Ties with Central Asia

In a significant stride towards fostering international collaboration, the 7th Silk Road International Exposition (SRIE) is underway in Xi’an, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, from November 16 to 20. This year marks a milestone as the exposition features, for the first time, dedicated exhibition areas for the five Central Asian countries, highlighting a deepening partnership along the historic Silk Road.

The inclusion of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in the International Exchange Exhibition underscores a mutual commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and economic integration. The host country exhibition area and the host province exhibition area serve as platforms for showcasing the unique cultural heritage and economic potentials of these nations, alongside China’s own advancements.

Over the course of the expo, participants have engaged in fruitful discussions and collaborations across various sectors, including infrastructure connectivity, trade and investment, scientific and technological innovation, industrial development, and people-to-people exchanges. The event has facilitated numerous agreements and initiatives aimed at bolstering economic ties and fostering sustainable development in the region.

Industry experts and government representatives have emphasized the importance of such exchanges in promoting mutual understanding and addressing common challenges. The SRIE continues to play a pivotal role in driving forward the Belt and Road Initiative, fostering a shared vision for prosperity among participating countries.

Attendees have had the opportunity to explore exhibitions featuring cutting-edge technologies, investment opportunities, and cultural displays. The expo not only serves as a hub for economic cooperation but also enhances cultural appreciation and friendship among nations connected by the ancient Silk Road.

As the 7th SRIE concludes, expectations are high for continued collaboration and the realization of projects and partnerships initiated during the event. The expo’s success reflects the growing importance of regional cooperation in Asia’s dynamic economic landscape.
