Beijing—The State Council Information Office (SCIO) held a press conference today to discuss preparations for the upcoming 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), scheduled to take place in Shanghai. Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping and Shanghai Vice Mayor Hua Yuan, along with officials from the CIIE Bureau and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, addressed the media and provided insights into this year’s event.
Vice Minister Sheng Qiuping emphasized the significance of the CIIE as a platform for international businesses to access the Chinese market. “The Expo reflects China’s commitment to opening up and fostering global economic collaboration,” he stated. He highlighted that previous editions of the CIIE have facilitated trade deals and partnerships, contributing to global economic growth.
Shanghai Vice Mayor Hua Yuan shared that the city is fully prepared to host the Expo, ensuring all facilities and services meet international standards. “We are ready to welcome exhibitors and visitors from around the world, providing a safe and dynamic environment for business exchanges,” Hua said.
Officials from the CIIE Bureau detailed the enhancements planned for this year’s Expo, including increased exhibition space, diversified industry sectors, and enhanced online platforms to accommodate virtual participation. They also discussed health and safety measures in place in light of global health considerations.
The 6th CIIE aims to attract businesses, investors, and innovators from various industries, showcasing China’s ongoing efforts to promote international trade and economic cooperation. The Expo is expected to offer extensive opportunities for networking, investment, and cultural exchange.
