On the banks of the Nile River in Uganda’s Kiryandongo District, the Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station stands as a beacon of progress and hope. Financed by the China Import and Export Bank, the Karuma Power Station is Uganda’s largest hydropower facility. For Bless, working with the EPC contractors at Karuma offered an opportunity to gain invaluable professional experience and forge vital connections within the engineering community.
“Working here has changed my life,” Bless shared. “I’ve learned so much and met so many incredible people.”

Directed and co-produced by filmmakers from China and Uganda, the series marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Set to be broadcast on Ugandan television stations Urban Television and Bukedde TV, the documentary offers a poignant look at the personal impacts of global cooperation.
