Hong Kong’s skyline was ablaze with color on Sunday night as the National Day Fireworks Display lit up the sky over Victoria Harbour. At precisely 9 p.m., the city celebrated the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with an awe-inspiring pyrotechnic show.

A total of 31,888 firework shells were launched into the night sky, dazzling spectators on both sides of the harbour. The display was thoughtfully divided into eight scenes, each with its own theme and choreography, spanning a total of 23 minutes.

The event marked the return of the National Day fireworks after a hiatus, bringing joy and excitement to residents and visitors alike. Families, tourists, and photography enthusiasts gathered along the waterfront, capturing the vibrant cascades of light that symbolized unity and prosperity.

Among the highlights were sequences that painted the sky with vivid reds and golds, reflecting traditional Chinese motifs, and dynamic patterns synchronized to music that resonated throughout the harbour area.

Government officials and event organizers emphasized the significance of this year’s celebration, highlighting Hong Kong’s role as a vital connector between China and the world. The fireworks display served not only as entertainment but also as a symbol of hope and renewal for the city’s future.

As the last firework faded, applause and cheers echoed across Victoria Harbour, leaving an unforgettable memory of unity and celebration in the heart of Asia’s world city.
