Kabul University Students Stand with China Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

At the Confucius Institute of Kabul University in Afghanistan, students and teachers have been closely monitoring the developments of the novel coronavirus outbreak in the Chinese mainland. United by their deep connections to Chinese culture and language, they have expressed concern and solidarity with the Chinese people during this challenging time.

“We consider China our second home,” said Ahmad, a student at the institute. “When we heard about the outbreak, we were deeply worried about our friends and teachers in China.”

Many students have taken to social media to send messages of encouragement, sharing videos and letters expressing their best wishes. Teachers at the institute have also been instrumental in fostering a sense of global community, emphasizing the importance of mutual support.

“The friendship between Afghanistan and China is longstanding,” remarked Professor Rahimi, a language instructor at the institute. “In times of hardship, it’s essential that we stand together.”

The Confucius Institute has been a bridge between the two nations, promoting cultural exchange and understanding. With the outbreak impacting communities worldwide, the institute’s members hope their gestures of support will contribute to the collective efforts to overcome the crisis.

As China continues its efforts to manage and contain the virus, the students and teachers at Kabul University remain hopeful. “We are confident that China will overcome this challenge,” said Fatima, another student. “We send our prayers and support to all those affected.”

The solidarity shown by the institute underscores the interconnectedness of our global community and the importance of compassion in times of adversity.
