The newly designated National Defense Area (NDA) framework, established during the Trump presidency, permits military personnel to detain individuals suspected of trespassing on federal land and transfer them to civilian authorities for prosecution.
Military analysts note that NDAs enable the use of advanced surveillance technologies, including drones and motion sensors, while maintaining a clear separation between military and law enforcement roles.
