The discussions highlighted plans to strengthen practical cooperation in trade, technology, and climate action while maintaining close diplomatic exchanges throughout 2025.
Wang reaffirmed the one-China principle as the political bedrock of bilateral relations, criticizing recent provocative statements about the Taiwan region by certain foreign leaders. "There is no room for ambiguity on matters concerning China's core interests," he asserted, calling on Germany to oppose any support for "Taiwan independence" separatist activities.
The dialogue also addressed EU-China relations, with Wang expressing hope that Germany would encourage rational policymaking within the bloc. Both ministers agreed to enhance multilateral coordination through platforms like the UN and G20, particularly in reforming global governance systems.
