China Dominates ITTF Mixed Team World Cup with Sixth Straight Win

China continued its table tennis supremacy by securing a sixth consecutive victory at the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup in Chengdu on Thursday, defeating France 8-2 in a thrilling showdown. The tournament hosts showcased their depth and resilience at the Sichuan Province venue, maintaining an unbeaten streak in the 2025 competition.

World No. 1 duo Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha set the tone with a decisive 3-0 victory in mixed doubles against France's Alexis Lebrun and Jia Nan Yuan. Wang Manyu extended China's lead with a dominant women's singles performance, telling reporters afterward: "In the face of difficulties, we still need to stay focused and be patient to forge ahead."

While France's Felix Lebrun briefly revived hopes with a hard-fought men's singles win, Chinese paddlers Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong sealed the match in the men's doubles finale. The victory positions China favorably as they prepare to face Germany in Friday's critical round-robin stage, while the Republic of Korea will challenge Japan in parallel group action.
