Automechanika Shanghai 2025, Asia's largest automotive trade fair, has kicked off with unprecedented focus on new-energy vehicles (NEVs), drawing over 7,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions. The event's expanded NEV section—50% larger than previous editions—showcases China's growing dominance in electrification and sustainable mobility solutions.
Supply Chain Maturity Takes Center Stage
More than 2,000 companies are displaying breakthroughs ranging from hydrogen fuel cells to smart charging infrastructure, underscoring the Chinese mainland's position as a complete NEV ecosystem. International suppliers from Germany, Japan, and other automotive powerhouses are increasing investments to align with China's rapid EV adoption rates, which reached 40% of new car sales this year.
Strategic Partnerships Strengthen
Aisin Shanghai Trading Co. Ltd., a key Japanese auto parts manufacturer, highlighted its commitment to the market. "Our certified service network now covers all provinces," said General Manager Wada Mitsuharu, emphasizing their focus on OE-quality EV components. This sentiment echoes across exhibition halls, where cross-border collaborations signal shifting global supply chain dynamics.
Industry analysts note the event's timing coincides with China's NEV exports surpassing 3 million units in 2025, cementing its role as both production hub and innovation laboratory for next-generation transportation technologies.
