China’s Yin Zheng Secures Skeleton Bronze at IBSF World Cup

Chinese athlete Yin Zheng claimed his third career World Cup medal in dramatic fashion at the IBSF Skeleton World Cup in Cortina, Italy, demonstrating China's growing prowess in winter sports. The 2025 competition saw Yin deliver a historic first run on the newly rebuilt Eugenio Monti track, setting an official course record of 56.79 seconds.

While Yin's second run placed him 11th in the heat, his combined time of 1:54.02 secured third place behind Britain's Matt Weston and Austria's Samuel Maier. This achievement builds on Yin's previous successes, including two World Cup bronzes during the 2024 season.

Three other Chinese male athletes made strong showings, with Chen Wenhao and Zhu Haifeng tying for eighth place, while Lin Qinwei finished 16th. In women's competition, 2024 Yanqing World Cup champion Zhao Dan placed eighth, with teammate Li Yuxi finishing 18th.

The results highlight China's continued investment in winter sports development following the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, with multiple athletes now regularly competing at World Cup level.
