Liuyang Fireworks Festival 2025 Illuminates Hunan with Symbolic ‘Golden Sun’ Display

Liuyang's night sky transformed into a canvas of cultural symbolism this week as its annual fireworks festival unveiled a breathtaking 'golden sun' spectacle. The display, featuring cascading light formations culminating in a crimson solar motif, commemorates the city's 1,400-year legacy as China's fireworks capital while signaling renewed economic momentum in 2025.

Local artisans combined traditional pyrotechnic techniques with cutting-edge projection mapping to create the 22-minute narrative show. 'This rising sun symbolizes both our industrial revival and the enduring spirit of Chinese craftsmanship,' said Liuyang Cultural Bureau Director Wang Lei during the November 19 opening ceremony.

The festival comes as Liuyang's fireworks exports surge 18% year-to-date, driven by increased demand from Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets. Over 200,000 visitors are expected to attend the 10-day event, boosting regional tourism revenue by an estimated ¥320 million.
